The Role of Gutters in Water Management
Gutters aren't glamorous, but they're doing serious work every time the weather turns. Foundation damage, siding rot, and water intrusion all trace back to drainage that isn't keeping up. Around The House Home Solutions has spent years helping Colorado Springs homeowners get in front of those problems rather than recover from them. A properly installed system keeps moisture away from your foundation, siding, and landscaping before it ever becomes a concern.
Colorado Springs throws a lot at your gutters. Between heavy snowfall, freeze-thaw cycles, sudden summer downpours, and wind-blown debris, your system needs to be built for the conditions here, not for milder weather elsewhere. A system that wasn't designed for this climate will quickly reveal its weaknesses.
Everything Your Home Needs to Stay Protected
We keep our focus narrow on purpose. Rather than being a generalist contractor who also handles gutters, we specialize in exterior drainage and protection.
Here's what that looks like in practice:
Seamless Gutters: Fabricated on-site to match your home's exact dimensions, these pair directly with Gutter Helmet for a complete, low-maintenance system.
Gutter Helmet: Our flagship product uses surface tension to guide water into the gutter while letting debris slide off the edge, no filter cleaning required.
Gutter Repair: Sometimes a full replacement isn't necessary. We'll give you an honest read on whether a repair makes sense or if you're better off starting fresh.
Helmet Heat: Designed for Colorado winters, heat cable prevents ice dams from forming and keeps water flowing during the coldest stretches of the year.
Not sure what your home actually needs? Around the House Home Solutions provides free inspections so you have all the facts before making a financial commitment.

5 Criteria
Gutter material comes in Aluminum, Steel, Copper, and Zinc. While Copper and Zinc are exclusively for custom homes, Aluminum and Steel are the most common for retrofit gutter system applications.
There are primarily five styles to gutters: K Style, Fascia, Half Round, Seamless, and Sectional. Depending on the ālookā you want will depend on the style that will be suit your homes exterior design.
We offer a variety of colors that can be matched with the color of your roof and other exterior details of your home.
The two most common sizes for gutters is ā5 Inchā and ā6 Inchā. Although there are certain installations that may call for even a ā7 Inchā, 5 and 6 are industry standard sizes.
Steel gutters go through a galvanization process that protects the material from rust. Copper and Zinc have their own coating that allows the material to āpatinaā over time.

What Sets Gutter Helmet ApartĀ
Most gutter guards on the market work by filtering water through a mesh or screen, which sounds logical until that mesh starts collecting compacted debris. At that point, you're back to cleaning again, just in a different way.
Gutter Helmet takes an entirely new approach. Its curved nose design lets water flow directly into the gutter, while debris simply falls away. There's nothing to clog because there's nothing to filter through. For Colorado Springs homeowners dealing with pine needles, seed pods, and seasonal debris, that distinction carries considerable weight. The system is made in the United States and has earned recognition as one of the top-performing products in its category.
It Comes Down to the Details
A gutter system has more going on than it might appear from the street. Every element plays a role in how well it performs and how long it holds up.
When we work through options with you, here's what we're evaluating:
Material
Aluminum and steel are the go-to choices for most homes, offering durability without the premium price tag. Copper and zinc are also available for custom builds.
Style
Gutters come in several profiles, including K-Style, Fascia, Half-Round, Seamless, and Sectional. We'll help you find the one that complements your home's exterior.
Color
Your gutters don't have to be an afterthought. We offer plenty of color options, from black and white to russet red and evergreen, to match your roof, trim, and siding.
Size
Most homes do well with either a 5-inch or 6-inch gutter, though some properties with larger roof surfaces or steeper pitches benefit from a 7-inch system.
Coating
Protective coatings are built into the material itself. Steel is galvanized against rust, and copper and zinc develop a natural patina that improves with age.
Gutter Installation Process
1. Consultation
The first step is to schedule an initial consultation and inspection. During this stage, weāll assess your property and identify any specific needs or challenges that may impact the installation. Weāll also take measurements and discuss gutter options, including materials and colors.
2. Fabrication
After weāve gathered all the necessary information, weāll custom-fabricate your gutters to ensure they fit your home or business perfectly. We use high-quality, high-gauge aluminum thatās designed to withstand the harsh weather conditions in Colorado Springs.
3. Installation
Once your custom gutters have been rolled off the machine, our technicians will carefully remove any old gutters and prepare the area. Weāll secure your new gutters with a calculated pitch to direct water away from your property exactly where it belongs.
4. Quality Assurance
Once your gutters have been installed, weāll perform a quality assurance inspection. Our team inspects for leaks, tightens every connection, and precision-slopes your gutters for optimal water flow. We also prioritize a professional finish that boosts your property's curb appeal.
5. Inspection & Clean-Up
Once your new gutters are in place, weāll walk you through the work weāve done, answer any questions you may have, and dispose of any old gutters or debris. We want to leave your property looking just as tidy as when we arrived.
